The Creation
- God created a human and gave him power over every living creature.
- God finished creating the world in seven days.
- He placed the man in Eden, a garden in the east.
- Eden was filled with lots of plants and trees. Namely the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
- There was a river that split into four: Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel, and Euphrates.
- He forbade man to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and named him Adam.
- From man, he made a woman.
- A snake persuaded the woman to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and she did, even giving one to Adam
- They ate and realized things and made leaves sewed together to cover themselves up
- He punished the snake by taking away its legs and making woman subservient to man.
- The woman was finally named Eve.
- God then kicked them out of the garden of Eden.
- Because of Adam's extraordinary qualities, the angels were jealous of him, especially Satan
- God told the angels to pay homage to Adam but Satan refused
- God then told Satan to compete with Adam in naming animals and Adam won
- He still refused to pay homage to Adam after the competition, so God threw him out of Heaven
- Eve was created from Adam's body part, his rib
- She possessed all of the traits God tried to rid her of
- Her body and brain was more complex than Adam's
- The difference between the two is because Adam was made from dust and Eve from bone
- Adam didn't love his first wife, even though she was made the same way, because she was made in his presence but he fell in love with Eve and married her because he didn't see how she was made
