Reading Diary B: Adam and Eve

This week's reading diary unit: Adam and Eve

Leaving the Garden
  • North of the garden there is a sea that man can wash his sins in
  • God did not permit Adam and Eve to bath in the sea because he didn't want their sins to be forgiven
  • He did not want to put them in the southern parts in case man got tempted by the smell of the trees and eat their fruit
  • He made man dwell in the Cave of Treasures below the garden
  • God made Adam walk on the earth until five and a half days and leave the garden
  • Adam did not understand what he said and thought the world would only last five and half days and cried
  • It was actually 5500 until someone would save Adam and "his seed"
  • God changed the form of the tree of which Adam and Eve ate from and it looked withered
  • When Adam went near the gate of the garden, he saw an angel that held a sword of flashing fire and thought he was going to die and he and Eve fainted
  • At this point in the story, the language gets harder and harder to understand for me
  • The angel had mercy on them and asked God what to do
  • God was pretty merciful to Adam and Eve even though they went against him and ate the fruit
  • Adam and Eve entered the cave and prayed until Adam fainted and Eve cried
  • Eve asked god to save Adam and to blame her for the sin instead (which I thought was nice of her)
  • Eve and Adam died and God brought them back to life
  • God seemed like a strict parent. Loving yet willing to to discipline.
  • Adam was scared that the animals would try to kill him and God then told them not to
  • All the beasts obeyed, except for the serpent
  • Adam and Eve then came across the river that came from the Tree of Life and wept
  • Then they died
  • God continues to raise Adam and Eve from death
  • Adam tells God that before their sin, they didn't need water, but now they do.
  • They continue to cry
  • The darkness that Adam and Eve were in was not a punishment, but it was day and night
  • God then told Adam that one day he will be born as one of Adam's seed and save him from his punishment
  • Adam thought that the Sun was God and the heat it emitted was supposed to be a punishment but God told him it wasn't
  • Adam was very childlike
  • As Adam and Eve left the garden, they found Satan in serpent form suffering the curse that God had given it
  • The snake blamed Adam and Eve for its punishment and tried to kill them but God intervened
  • God took away its ability to speak and threw it all the way to India
  • I want to write a story about the snake and how it became to be this way in the perspective of one of the snake's descendants
